- It's a FM mono synth. (some poly, but meant for soloing)
- It was a complete flop... Yamaha marketed it to the consumer market before going big with the DX line of synths.
- It's the third FM synth that Yamaha produced. (GS1, GS2, CE20, CE25, DX1, DX7...)

You could tap into the 'Touch' voltage and use that to feed into all sorts of CV effects.... The Symphonic Modulator (Ensemble Chorus) seems best suited for the Strings and other sustained patches vs. the monophonic ones... your example was a bit buzzy, either overdriving the audio line or possibly defective delay chip(?)
